Friday Fun

Christopher is almost 5 months old now and I can't believe it! Time flies by so fast. I brought dinner to a friend tonight who just had a baby and it seems like yesterday that I myself was at home and people were blessing me with meals. Amazing how time flies when you become a parent and start watching your kids change so much day-to-day. Well Christopher is somewhat eating rice cereal now and that has been lots of fun. He is a spoiled baby and won't really take bottles from anyone, but he's doing great at giving the cereal a try. While I was feeding him, he kept sneezing, and as you can imagine, it is quite messy afterwards. But at least it makes for a good picture:)

So today has been an interesting day. This morning started off a little rough with us forgetting to set our alarm clocks from coming back late from Bible Study last night and in turn Katherine missing the bus this a/m. So we hopped in the car and took the shortcut route we normally take, but it happened to be closed off, so we took the long way and were late. So Katherine got her first tardy. Ugh, that was frustrating. Sometimes I feel like I'm the one in school again, learning how to be disciplined!
This evening, Katherine and I were playing around and she decided that she'd love to be able to take Baby Pher to school with her someday. She loves her brothers and is such a sweet and loving sister. It was so funny because she stuck him in her backpack and was rolling him around outside like she was about to go catch the bus! And the funny thing is, he actually liked it! Kids do the cutest things sometimes.

After dinner, our Mormon friends came knocking on our door again to chat. We invited them in, gave them some drinks and made chocolate chip cookies. Daniel said he asked if they wanted any tea, soda, or water...and of course they opted for the water...Hahah. This is the 3rd time we've had some come back but this time a new elder was there. So it first started off with Elder A and Elder B, but this week we had Elder A and Elder C there. Elder B had definitely been the weaker link and didn't really know his stuff so you could understand why he was replaced. We talked for about 1 1/2 hours, but didn't feel that this discussion was as productive as the last one, mainly because we were just asking lots of questions about their doctrine, etcc. Anyways, they will be back next Friday to continue our discussion, but asked us to watch the BYU channel this weekend and to listen to the current prophet, Gordon Hinkly, and pray to "our Heavenly Father" to see if he really is a true prophet. Anyways, it's quite interesting and I'm learning a lot about the Mormon beliefs and how it's so contradictory!

Time for bed...family pictures tomorrow!

Your kids are growing up so fast! That is sweet that Katherine loves her baby brother. I know I was always that way with Brent! Thanks for the tips on the pictures, and yes, I will invite you to my wedding when it happens!

Old Navy Coupon!!

Wahoo...I don't know if I've ever been more excited about a coupon before! Lately, I've been following a lot of neat money-saving blogs to see if I could cut our grocery budget down from about $1,000 a month and I'm proud to say that I've done that this month and cut it down to $400...more than HALF! That's partially why I haven't posted blogs in a while because this definitely keeps me busy, but I guess is well worth it! I use to just clip a few coupons, head to the store, and be so excited when I'd save $15-20 in one trip. (If you're interested in knowing the money-saving blogs I follow, let me know and I'll forward them to you!) Anyways, OldNavyWeekly.com hides several coupons on there each week (usually reloads on Thursdays) and a big coupon on there is $75 off $100 purchase. I tried last week to get it and even stayed up til 2 a.m. trying, but no luck (I really enjoy the challenge:). Last night, I tried at 8 p.m. and found they reloaded

A Little Bit of Christmas...

I've had a lot of fun this year decorating for Christmas! Last year we really didn't decorate since we had just moved into our house and weren't even in town long enough to enjoy it. Plus in years past, we've had a 4 foot Christmas tree that was "child-proof". Well this year our tree is definitely not child proof but I guess we took the risk. It's been great watching the kid's faces every morning looking at the tree and turning on the lights and train underneath it. We also figured out that the train calms Christopher down and sometimes puts him to sleep! Last night he was really fussy and after a while we weren't sure what to do. So we just sat down in front of the tree and turned the train on for Matt, and Christopher just watched it go around and round for a while and stopped crying! We'll have to try that again!...maybe we should keep the train out year round! :) Daniel was in the Christmas spirit last night and decided to wrap two presents

Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus...Contemporary style

Yesterday I went to the store for a few things and ended up buying a Nativity set and displayed it in the house. Of course, it wasn't long before the kids found it and started playing with the pieces. Matthew ran around saying "Baby Jesus!...I love you baby Jesus!" and then Katherine wanted to pretend that Christopher was baby Jesus. So a few towels, headbands, and bathrobes later, this is the outcome:) Katherine praying over her newly born baby Jesus- Katherine and baby Jesus so excited and filled with joy- Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus in the stable (yes, with a Christmas tree in the background)- Luke 2:14 "And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth."
