March is here!

I can't believe that it's already March and Easter will be here before we know it! Spring break for us is next week and I have to say that I'm excited about being able to sleep in a bit and not have to get Katherine up and ready for the bus at the crack of dawn (6:15 a.m). Plus Matthew will have a playmate the whole week, so it'll be great:) I know I haven't posted a new blog in a long time so I thought I'd better!! Everyone here in the Farmer household is doing well and staying busy.

Katherine has been doing very well in school and recently received her scores back from being tested on reading at school. So far, she is above average, and according to her report card from December, she was already reading where she should be at the end of the year. I had always thought she was behind a little on reading because we hadn't worked with her constantly on it, but I guess she's better off than we thought! She just reached her 200th book read so that means she gets a prize, which is always big and exciting news to her. She is very good at obeying all the rules at school and she received the "Law abider" award at school during her Kindergarten Awards ceremony for knowing and always following the school rules. She is always keeping me in line around here too! I can tell she is going to be an organized child when she gets older. Every night before bed, she gets her matching outfit out for the next day, shoes and socks out beside it, sets her alarm, and makes sure that her backpack is packed with all the appropriate things and homework. WOW! If I ever put her clothes in the wrong drawer or socks in the underwear drawer, she'll be the first to tell me. Anyways, Katherine is doing great, loving life, and enjoying school! Here are a few pics of her doing some jumproping!

Jumpin' High!

I love jumproping!

Matthew and Christopher got haircuts by Daniel this past weekend and they enjoyed it. I came home from a baby shower to find them all spiffed out in their new hairdos! Matthew and Christopher are starting to really play well together and make each other laugh at the most random/silly things. But it's fun to watch them play and see the bond/friendship they're forming. Matthew is doing well and I can't believe he'll be 3 next month! He's talking more and more lately and his newest phrase is "I can't believe it!". It's so funny to hear him talking and then say "I can't believe it!" as if he has experienced something really dramatic. It's quite funny. He loves getting up every morning and going down to the bus stop with Katherine and me. If I ever were to leave him at home to walk down to the bus (even though Daniel's still getting ready for work), he wouldn't be too happy. Matthew also likes to go to storytime at the library every week and also has fun tagging along with me every week when I go to work at the church. Matt's doing well and keeping us all busy and entertained:)

Getting a haircut!

Christopher is getting so big and I can't believe in two months that he'll be one year old. It seems that when babies hit 1 year old, they're no longer babies! I absolutely LOVE little babies and am so sad when that stage of life is gone. At least I'll have a new nephew in April to hold!:) Christopher is really getting around well and learning how to vacuum our house! He loves to go around and pick up crumbs, dirt, and all sorts of other things. He swallowed a penny (not sure where he got it from, but I'm guessing Matt) and he just thought it would be fun for me to see it in his diaper. I freaked out when I saw it, but was just glad he didn't choke on it! Agh...third babies...can you tell I'm a little more relaxed with him? Christopher is crawling all over the house quickly now and opening/shutting the cabinets, pulling up on the coffee table, and playing with all the soot in the fireplace. We definitely have 3 children now, rather than 2 children and an infant, in that they all 3 keep us busy and on our toes now. But he is such a laid back, easy going baby and hardly gets upset about things. I'm trying to capture and enjoy every moment while I can.

Well sorry it's taken so long to post an update! I'll definitely have to get better at posting more often than this! Hope you have a great week!

Old Navy Coupon!!

Wahoo...I don't know if I've ever been more excited about a coupon before! Lately, I've been following a lot of neat money-saving blogs to see if I could cut our grocery budget down from about $1,000 a month and I'm proud to say that I've done that this month and cut it down to $400...more than HALF! That's partially why I haven't posted blogs in a while because this definitely keeps me busy, but I guess is well worth it! I use to just clip a few coupons, head to the store, and be so excited when I'd save $15-20 in one trip. (If you're interested in knowing the money-saving blogs I follow, let me know and I'll forward them to you!) Anyways, OldNavyWeekly.com hides several coupons on there each week (usually reloads on Thursdays) and a big coupon on there is $75 off $100 purchase. I tried last week to get it and even stayed up til 2 a.m. trying, but no luck (I really enjoy the challenge:). Last night, I tried at 8 p.m. and found they reloaded

A Little Bit of Christmas...

I've had a lot of fun this year decorating for Christmas! Last year we really didn't decorate since we had just moved into our house and weren't even in town long enough to enjoy it. Plus in years past, we've had a 4 foot Christmas tree that was "child-proof". Well this year our tree is definitely not child proof but I guess we took the risk. It's been great watching the kid's faces every morning looking at the tree and turning on the lights and train underneath it. We also figured out that the train calms Christopher down and sometimes puts him to sleep! Last night he was really fussy and after a while we weren't sure what to do. So we just sat down in front of the tree and turned the train on for Matt, and Christopher just watched it go around and round for a while and stopped crying! We'll have to try that again!...maybe we should keep the train out year round! :) Daniel was in the Christmas spirit last night and decided to wrap two presents

Joseph, Mary, and Baby Jesus...Contemporary style

Yesterday I went to the store for a few things and ended up buying a Nativity set and displayed it in the house. Of course, it wasn't long before the kids found it and started playing with the pieces. Matthew ran around saying "Baby Jesus!...I love you baby Jesus!" and then Katherine wanted to pretend that Christopher was baby Jesus. So a few towels, headbands, and bathrobes later, this is the outcome:) Katherine praying over her newly born baby Jesus- Katherine and baby Jesus so excited and filled with joy- Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus in the stable (yes, with a Christmas tree in the background)- Luke 2:14 "And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth."
