8 months!

Christopher turned 8 months old today...I can't believe how time has flown by! It seems like yesterday that I was waddling around the house chasing Matthew and Katherine!

Christopher's personality has really blossomed in the past month and I'm having so much fun watching him develop. He is a very determined, but easy going, baby. When he wants something (or doesn't want something for that matter), he's sure to let us know and will clench his fists and scream. This usually happens when Matthew is trying to ride him as a horse or is taking all his toys away, so I can totally understand why he would want to scream about that. But other than that Christopher is such an easy going, happy baby who hardly ever cries. He's also very curious and we can tell he's always trying to figure things out and see what's going on. He LOVES splashing in the bathtub and playing with Katherine and Matt.

Although he's already 8 months, he's not started crawling yet. He's scooting a bit, but hasn't attempted the "all-fours" position yet. I think he's been the "slowest" of our three kids in crawling and teething, but I'm totally fine with that since he's our last:( I want to enjoy every second of his baby months while they last!

Recently he's been enjoying watching Howdy by the back door in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. He'll just sit there content for a while and watch the dog. He's figured out that he can pull on the blinds and touch the window without Howdy doing anything to him. However, when we are all outside with Howdy, Christopher actually loves it when Howdy comes up to him and licks him all over his face and then runs off. I thought it would make him cry, but so far he hasn't and he just has a puzzled look on his face like "What was that!?". Maybe he'll be a dog lover someday? It's been fun watching him explore this new world and figuring things out. I've really enjoyed these past 8 months with Christopher. He's been such a joy and a great addition to our family...I don't know what I'd do without him!

We're so blessed to have 3 great kiddos!

Oh Mary! He's so precious! I miss that stage with Joshua. They really don't stay little for long so I totally agree with you, enjoy every second of it you can. :)

Hey Mary! I just did a technorati search on my blog, and it gave me a link to you, since you've put my blog on your site. Yay! I'm so glad I found your blog - I've had so much fun reading about your family. May you be blessed today!

Old Navy Coupon!!

Wahoo...I don't know if I've ever been more excited about a coupon before! Lately, I've been following a lot of neat money-saving blogs to see if I could cut our grocery budget down from about $1,000 a month and I'm proud to say that I've done that this month and cut it down to $400...more than HALF! That's partially why I haven't posted blogs in a while because this definitely keeps me busy, but I guess is well worth it! I use to just clip a few coupons, head to the store, and be so excited when I'd save $15-20 in one trip. (If you're interested in knowing the money-saving blogs I follow, let me know and I'll forward them to you!) Anyways, OldNavyWeekly.com hides several coupons on there each week (usually reloads on Thursdays) and a big coupon on there is $75 off $100 purchase. I tried last week to get it and even stayed up til 2 a.m. trying, but no luck (I really enjoy the challenge:). Last night, I tried at 8 p.m. and found they reloaded...

Poor Guy...

On Saturday Christopher (our 2 yr. old) was outside playing in the backyard with our other kids and fell and hurt his leg. He cried on and off for most of the night and wouldn't walk or even stand on his leg but we didn't see any swelling, so we somewhat thought he just badly pulled a muscle/tendon or had a sprain. On Sunday afternoon, we decided to take him to the urgent care and they took X-rays and found that he has a spiral fracture on his tibia (i.e. - the larger bone in the leg), which means he has a broken leg. They put his leg in a splint and told us to contact an orthopedic surgeon this week. Today, I made an appointment early (and actually got in for this afternoon!) to see a pediatric orthopedist and the Dr. said that he has to be in long leg cast (goes from toe to uppermost part of thigh) for 4 1/2 weeks and then we'll come back and take more X-rays to determine if he'll need a short cast put on. If it's healed properly, then we can just remove the long ...

6 years...

So it's January 19th...our anniversary! I can't believe we've been married for six years. In some ways it seems like we've been married such a loooonngg time, but in other ways it feels like we're still dating. Nevertheless, the past 6 years have been great, even as I remember the challenges we've faced together. I think they've just made us stronger. I can honestly say that after 6 years, we have never had a fight where both of us were angry and yelling at each other...like the movies. Thank the Lord! There may have been times where we weren't just soo lovey dovey with each other, or may have said things that weren't nice, but for some reason we seem to get over it quickly and move on. I'm thankful for Daniel and how loving he is towards me and his consistency in showing love to me no matter what. After 6 years, 3 kids, 4 apartments, 1 house, 1 dog, and 3 cities later, I'm so blessed to have Daniel as my husband!
